Mrs. Darlene Adkins McGlone, age 85 of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Kings Daughter Medical Center, in Ashland, Kentucky.
She was born February 20th, 1937 in Greenup County, Kentucky a daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Osborn Adkins.
Darlene was retired from Carter County Board Of Education after 32 ½ years. She was a member of the Carter Christian Church. She enjoyed reading the Bible, books, and doing word searches. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Carl McGlone; one daughter, Linda McGlone and one brother, Glenn Adkins.
She is survived by one son, Stan (Anita) McGlone of Olive Hill, Kentucky; four brothers, Wade Adkins and Morgan Adkins both of Ashland, Kentucky, Joseph (Lois) Adkins of Chillicothe, Ohio; Steve (Dorothy) Adkins of Grayson, Kentucky; three sisters, Louise (Ogden) Lewis of Scotts Branch, Kentucky, Janet Ward and Esther Denny both of Ashland, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) McGlone of Hillsboro, Kentucky and Misty (Michael) Milton of Olive Hill, Kentucky; six great grandchildren, Shannon Quinn, Ava Grace McGlone, Solomon Justice, Suzie McGlone, Alex McGlone, and Kyle Hanes.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel at 17277 US Hwy. 60 West, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Gary Sparks and Brother Terrell Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the McGlone Creek Cemetery on McGlone Creek Road in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2022 and until the service hour on Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Glenn Adkins, Dustin Adkins, Miles Lewis, Joey Davis, Shannon Quinn, and Greg Stambaugh will serve as pallbearers. Jason Adkins, David Carper, and Solomon Justice will serve as honorary pallbearers.
