Franklin “Frank” Delano Fraley, 84, of Grayson went to be with his Lord Thursday, February 9, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born October 26, 1938 in Elliott Co., KY a son of the late, Elmer and Grova May Ison Fraley. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carolyn Sue Suttles Fraley; two sisters, Ruby Jean Stone and Virginia Fields; and three brothers, Clavis Fraley, Lloyd Fraley and Elmer Junior Fraley.
Frank was a dedicated member of Smith Branch Enterprise Baptist Church. Frank said that the Lord blessed him with the talent of playing guitar and singing, but his calling was to take care of the church; which he did faithfully for 65 years. Frank served his country honorably in the US Navy. After the Navy, he worked at Sturgill’s in Olive Hill for over five years and retired from Dyer’s Big Sandy after 30 plus years as a skilled technician at both. Frank enjoyed spending time in his garden and raising tobacco.
Frank is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Duane) McDavid and Trish (Tony) Shepherd; two sons, Robert Fraley and James Fraley all of Grayson; eight grandchildren, Shanna (Greg) Stamm, Brandon (Erica) Fraley, Kayla (Chris) Acosta, Nathan (Shelby) McDavid, Shay Shepherd, Kristin Fraley, Shelby Fraley and Gavin Shepherd; six great-grandchildren, Christian Fraley, Brennen Fraley, Noah Stamm, Kaden Stamm, Connor McDavid and Eva Howard; two sisters, Mary (Gary) Kitchen and Jenny (Randy) Sexton; a brother, Don (Karen) Fraley; a sister-in-law, Edna Fraley; and a host of extended family and friends who all mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Malone Funeral Home with Bro. Chauncey Griffith, Bro. Gary Waugh, and Bro. Mike Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the Suttles Family Cemetery on Smith Branch. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Friday and after 9 am Saturday until the service hour.
