Mr. Garland Knipp, age 74, of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away Thursday, November 10, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 25, 1948 in Carter County, Kentucky a son of the late Basil and Myrtle Barker Knipp.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth Elwood Knipp, Clyde Knipp, William Robert Knipp; one sister, Christine Holbrook.
Garland proudly served his county in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Garland is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Della Bailey Knipp; two daughters, Rhonda Prue of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Melinda Knipp and her husband, Tony Caldwell of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Austin Matthew Caldwell, Dalton Cole Caldwell, Jayden DanNeal Prue; one brother, Roy Knipp of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one sister, Phyllis Mosier of Olive Hill, Kentucky along with other family members who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Bledsoe Cemetery on Rattlesnake Ridge in Carter County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky and after 9 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022 until the service hour at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside by American Legion Post 138.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
