Gary Lee Chaffins, age 57, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
He was born Friday, July 16, 1965, in Greenup County, Kentucky, a son of the late Jim and Jewell Nichols Chaffins.
Gary worked for The Salvation Army Store as a truck driver for 30 years in Ashland, Kentucky. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nephew, Willie.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jim Chaffins, Eddie Chaffins, John Chaffins and Raymond Chaffins; one sister, Joyce Hensley and one niece, Olivia Jordan.
He is survived by his sister, Linda (Roger) Coburn of Grayson, Kentucky; raised like a brother, Bill (Jean) Bradley of Tipp City, Ohio; nephews, Charlie Thompson, Jeremey Chaffins, Eric Chaffins; nieces, Julie Sullivan, Tina (Michael) Halley, Laura Stillion, Hollie (Kevin) Mitchell; great nephews, Scottie Gamble, Mo Jordon, Semo Jordon, AJ Hewlett, Tyler Holley, Jordan Halley, Willie Stillion; great nieces, Lisa (Sam) Halley, Maddie Hewlett, Shauna Sullivan, Misty Baker, Tara (Jessica) Sullivan, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Chaffins Cemetery. Burial will be in the Chaffins Cemetery.
