Ivan E. Thomas, age 72, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, formerly of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, Kentucky.
He was born Monday, January 22, 1951, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Charles and Mrytle McDaniel Thomas.
Ivan was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed hunting, going to flea markets and yard sales, listening to country music, watching tv movies, playing Bingo at Senior Citizens Center. He had a big heart and would do anything to help anyone he could. Of all these things, he loved his daughter, Merissa and all his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his long time companion, Crystal DeBord; two sisters, Edna Mae Thomas and Lenora Diane Thomas.
Ivan is survived by his daughter, Merissa (Charlie) Sexton of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; two step grandchildren, Kantessa Sexton and Jerimiah Sexton; three great grandchildren; one brother, Dale (Page) Thomas of Maysville, Kentucky; three sisters, Vickie Workman and Elizabeth Thomas both of Mayslick, Kentucky, Tiny Maxine Dalton of Flemingsburg, Kentucky. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Kelly Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Erwin Cemetery on Webb Ridge, in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 11 a.m., Monday, July 10, 2023, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
