Timothy Wayne “Tim” Griffith, 69 of Sandy Hook, KY went to be with his Lord Sunday, July 2, 2023 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Tim was born August 27, 1953 a son of the late, Walter and Gladys Burton Griffith who raised him in Grayson, KY. In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by a stepson, John Travis Brown; two brothers, Randy “Chew” Griffith and Walter “June” Griffith; a sister, Bobbie Ison; and a granddaughter, Amya James Oney. Tim is survived by his loving wife, Rita Francis Fannin Griffith; two daughters, Brooke (Jeff) Rice and Sarah Griffith both of Grayson; step-daughters, Jackie Brown of Sandy Hook and Rebecca (Jamie) Oney of Grayson; grandchildren, Cameron Elizabeth Rice and Ian Rice both of Grayson, John Gabriel Brown of Richmond, KY, Jackson Simmons, Joslyn Simmons, Kason Brown all of Sandy Hook, Anna Oney and Ava Oney both of Grayson; three sisters, Phyllis (Don) Penrod of Hilliard, OH, Patsy Goebel of Ashland, and Tempest (Jamie) Flaugher of Grayson; three brothers, Don (Debbie) Griffith, George (Inez) Griffith, and Charlie (Sharon) Griffith all of Grayson; his dog, “Boo”; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who all mourn his passing. Tim worked as a boilermaker with the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers lodge 105; the Local 248 Plumbers and Steamfitters and Ashland Oil Construction. Tim was a member of Masonic Lodge 626 in Willard. Tim graduated from Prichard High School class of 1971, and studied at Ashland Community College from 1971-1972. Tim was a former Grayson City Councilman; a member of the Jaycee’s; coached little league baseball and was listed in the Who’s Who of American Young Men. Tim leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. Words cannot describe the loss felt by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters and all his family and friends. To know Tim was to love Tim. He had a passion for NASCAR racing, basketball, football, and any sport he could find on TV. He loved to play golf and go on trips with friends to play golf and watch NASCAR. Tim was known as “Griff” to his many work friends. Tim was loved and respected by all. With joy, his wife Rita and brother Don want to share that Tim dedicated his heart to his Lord and Savior recently, becoming a child of God. Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Pat Bowling officiating. Entombment will follow in the Eat Carter Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Friday and after 9 am Saturday until the service hour.
