Mrs. Kathleen Lawson Hanshaw, age 85, of Lawton, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at her residence.
She was born Wednesday, May 18, 1938, in Carter County, Kentucky to the late Clyde and Amy Hammond Lawson.
Kathleen was a member of the Limestone Apostolic Church. She enjoyed working in her flowers, feeding the birds, watching tv and caring for her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Hanshaw; two grandsons, Craig Birchfield and Tim Hanshaw; two daughter in law, Linda Hanshaw, Patty Hanshaw.
She is survived by seven sons, Butch Hanshaw of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Burl Eugene Hanshaw of Tollesboro, Kentucky, Virgil Hanshaw of Olive Hill, Kentucky, John Hanshaw and Jeff (Vicky) Hanshaw both of Halderman, Kentucky, Tim (Carol) Hanshaw and Gary (Madonna) Hanshaw both of Morehead, Kentucky; one daughter, Pam Hanshaw of Olive Hill, Kentucky; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grand children; two sisters, Edna Sloas of Webbville, Kentucky and Christine Lawson of Grayson, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Ricky Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Hanshaw Cemetery on Mushroom Ridge in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit after 11 a.m., Thursday, July 6, 2023, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Levi Hanshaw, Devin Hanshaw, Matthew Hanshaw, Chase Hanshaw, Lance Hanshaw, Nathan Hanshaw, Jacob Hanshaw and Jackie Brown will serve as pallbearers.
