Ms. Lena Joy Barker Roe, age 76, of Longs, South Carolina, formerly of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at her residence.
She was born Sunday, August 18, 1946, in Carter County, Kentucky to the late Lonnie and Jeanette “Dollie” Stevens Barker.
Joy loved her dog, Molly and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she is preceded by one brother, Emerson Barker and one sister, Phyllis Johnston.
Joy is survived by one son, Lonnie (Ronnita) Roe of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Jennifer Roe Fuller of Longs, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Thompson; one grandson, Caleb Roe; two brothers, Ronnie Barker of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Roger (Jeanette) Barker of Ceredo West Virginia; one sister, Sue (Roger) Johnson of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and a bonus daughter, LeeAnn Carter, along with a host of other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2022 and after 9 a.m. until the service hour on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Globe Funeral Chapel Kentucky, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
