Michael Gene Porter, age 60, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Saturday, September 21, 1963, to Faye Henderson Porter of Olive Hill, Kentucky and the late Hubert “Duke” Porter.
Michael enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseback riding, being outdoors, and watching his children riding go-carts.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Brenda Cole Porter; two sons, Michael Allen Porter and Matthew Gayle Porter both of Morehead, Kentucky; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Porter of Morehead, Kentucky; one brother, Lowell Porter of Morehead, Kentucky; two sisters, Brenda Holbrook of Morehead, Kentucky and Linda Mabry of Olive Hill, Kentucky, along with several uncles, aunts, cousins and many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Dwayne Johnson and Brother Jason Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Porter Cemetery on Henderson Ridge in Elliott County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, and after 9 a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2023, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel.
Mark Brown, Jeff Brown, Jay Boggs, Vent Manning, Calvin Cole and Lonnie Cole will serve as pallbearers.
