Virgie Corene Ison Porter, 90 of Webbville went to be with her Lord, Monday, April 24, 2023 at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family. Corene was born March 18, 1933 in Elliott Co. KY, a daughter of the late Perry Lee Ison and Rebecca Lee Ison Sparks. In addition to her parents, Corene was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years in 2014, Madison ”June” Porter, Jr.; two brothers, Willard Lowell Ison and Willis Lloyd Ison; a great-granddaughter, Madison Jade Tobias; and a great-grandson, Logan Pennington. Corene was a homemaker, was of the Baptist Faith, enjoyed crocheting, working in her garden and loved spending time with her family.
Corene is survived by two daughters, Doris Jean (Ronnie) Williams of West Liberty and Mary Ann (Gary) Porter of Bruin; three sons, James Lee (Debbie) Porter, Gary Bruce (Shelia) Porter and Alan Dale Porter all of Webbville; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends who all mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday April 27, 2023 at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Bro. Tim Porter and Bro. Jesse McDavid officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson-Porter Family Cemetery on Brushy Creek in Elliott County. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Wednesday and after 9 am Thursday until the service hour.
