Walter Allen Conn


Mr. Walter Allen Conn, age 76, of Hillman Hollow Road in Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away, Monday morning, December 14, 2020, at his residence.

He was born February 4, 1944, in Elliott County, Kentucky, a son of the late Arnold and Bertha Binion Conn.

Walter was a member of the Dry Branch Church of God and he enjoyed hunting, working on guns and lawn mowers and spending time with his children, especially with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Darlene Maggard Conn; one son, Jeffrey Conn; four brothers, Arville Conn, Thomas Conn, Ralph Conn and Jackie Conn; and one sister, Mary Hazel Rideout.

Walter is survived by one son, Daniel Conn of Paintsville, Kentucky; three daughters, Samantha Poth, Cindy Barker, and Salena Lewis, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Conn of Greensville, Indiana and Richard Conn of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and three sisters, Charlene Sazbo of Morehead, Kentucky, Nellie Holbrook and Janie Hall both of Olive Hill, Kentucky. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2020, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Clifford Price and Brother Gayle Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradley Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020, and after 9 a.m. on Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. 

Due to COVID-19 regulations, we ask that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing.
