Mr. Cecil Edward Griffey age 78 of Olive Hill, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at his sisters residence.
He was born May 26, 1943 in Carter County, Kentucky a son of the late Haskel and Saddie Ramey Griffey.
Eddie grew up in Olive Hill, Ky. attended the Olive Hill High School and entered the USMC 1960-1964. He was a retired construction worker, member of Masonic Lodge #629, Olive Hill, Ky. A 32 Mason-Covington, Ky, member of El. Hasa Shrine, Ashland, Ky, member of Olive Hill Shrine Club and a member of the Olive Hill American Legion.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Lou Arlen Griffey, William Milton Griffey and Charles Griffey, six sisters, Beatrice Ingles, Eulane Harris, Nina Mae Wilson, Christine James, Louise Carter and Shelby Jean Griffey.
He is survived by one son, Buck (Denisa) Griffey of Grayson, Kentucky, one granddaughter, Sonseeahray L. Griffey, one great grandchild, Julien Burchett, three sisters, Jewell Hicks, Evaline Whitman, Donna Bailey all of Olive Hill, Kentucky, a special nephew whom was his caretaker, Myron Bailey of Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2021, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast with full Military Honors conducted by the Kenova American Legion Post.
