Dearl June Kitchen Jr., age 93, of Grayson, Kentucky, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at Community Hospice Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
He was born Monday, July 12, 1929, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Dearl and Belva Fultz Kitchen.
June proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from Armco Steel Mill with 36 years of service. He enjoyed working in his orchard, gardening, riding his four wheeler and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty Lou Kennedy Kitchen; one son, Larry David Kitchen and one sister, Diane Jenkins.
June is survived by one son, Rocky Kitchen of Grayson, Kentucky; one daughter, Debra Jane Kitchen of Grayson, Kentucky; three grandchildren, whom he raised as his own, Jeremy Smith, Matthew Wells, and Alex Smith; four great-grandchildren, Waylon Smith, Kara Mabry, Jenna Counts, Anniston McWhorter; two brothers, Chet Kitchen of Grayson, Kentucky, Audie Kitchen of Blue Springs, Missouri; three sisters, Irene Walters of New Mexico, Carolyn Jobe and Nadine Sexton both of Willard, Kentucky, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral Services will be held, 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Grayson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 49 McCoy Road, Grayson, Kentucky with Brother Louie Baier officiating. Burial will follow in the Fultz Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Grayson Funeral Home and after 9 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2023 until the service hour.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
